This week has been all about celebrating the holidays with my family (thank goodness for warm weather and Zoom, which allowed for some togetherness, even during COVID!), so there is little to report on the campaign front. That being said, I am smack dab in the middle of the vacancy appointment process and would be remiss not to thank everybody who has helped establish me as a strong candidate thus far.
Thank you, neighbors and community leaders who submitted formal letters of recommendation. Thank you, folks who sent emails to the Mayor and councilmembers encouraging them to select me. Thank you, brave souls, who showed to the virtual City Council meeting last week to make public comment, even though I know it was waaay outside of some of your comfort zones. Regardless of whether or not I am chosen to fill the District 4 vacancy, I am honored to have so many folks on Team #melanieforfoco who have enough faith in me to take time out of their hectic lives to support me on this journey.
This week, I will be spending some serious quality time with the City's many strategic plans and Council meeting minutes, so that I feel confident for my vacancy interview on January 6th. There is also another opportunity for public comment on January 5th so, if you are game, please let me know. I hope that you are all enjoying a healthy, safe, and happy holiday season. I am grateful for all of you.
