PSD Board of Education Director DJ Anderson is a community leader, District 4 constituent, Rocky parent, and person of character. I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with him on several community initiatives and am proud to have his endorsement for Council. Thanks to DJ for this great op-ed in The Coloradoan.
Melanie Potyondy's insight, ability evident through work in schools, council
As a PSD board director, parent and constituent, I believe Melanie Potyondy is the most qualified candidate for the District 4 City Council seat. I was among the many who endorsed her to fill the vacant seat in January and have not wavered in my stance. Melanie will make us proud on council for years to come.
As a school psychologist, Melanie directly supports students and families at Rocky Mountain High School. She has also worked at a systemic level to improve district funding. I collaborated with her on campaigns for Amendment 73 and the 4A mill levy override. I witnessed, firsthand, her leadership skills and dedication to making her community a better place. Her ability to rally support was critical in 4A passing, thus bettering conditions for staff and students.
After the campaign, Melanie spearheaded conversations within the district about how to best apply funds in the emotional arena. She helped connect leadership with mental health staff so all parties’ perspectives were considered. She also provided input on how to best meet the needs of struggling students, based on her experiences at work.
Melanie has consistently demonstrated strong judgment, work ethic and communication skills. Through her work at Rocky and time on council, her insight and ability have been clear. Melanie earned her position on council in January and she will continue to be an excellent representative for District 4. I encourage you to cast your vote for Melanie Potyondy on April 6.
